On Wednesday, New Yorkers expressed their concern that tenant harassment has increased over the past year. At Wednesday’s hearing, the Human Rights Commission noted that 45% more complaints had been filed in 2009, than in 2008, despite the enactment of Local Law 10. The law was passed over Mayor Bloomberg’s veto and prohibits discrimination based on tenant income.
