Mount Vernon is a city of 65,000 located in Westchester County near the NYC Bronx border. The City of Mount Vernon is preparing a new Comprehensive Plan to guide the overall growth and physical development. The focus of this tour will be the Mount Vernon West area which offers many opportunities for creative use: the Mount Vernon West Commuter train station and the exit off of the Bronx River Parkway are major gateways into Mount Vernon. The City's planners along with the community want to preserve what�s working while seizing the opportunities to improve the residential and industrial character of the neighborhood and the quality of the commuter experience at the train station.
