The revenue stream that casinos are known to generate makes the future of Aqueduct more alluring despite concerns from State Senator Frank Padavan (D) that the casino will negatively impact the financial stability of residents in surrounding communities.&lt;/p&gt;

Mayor Bloomberg and Borough President Marty Markowitz praised progress on the long-delayed project, saying it would bring needed jobs to the borough; meanwhile, protesters staged a mock funeral outside and donned masks of prominent local officials while ridiculing the ceremony.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Proposed Supportive Housing Facility, Landmarking Effort in Kingsbridge Heights at Odds</title>
