New York City passed a Green Manufacturing Initiative in August that has already generated an estimated $12 billion of construction in “green” buildings in Queens over the next 10 years. Council Member James Gennaro of Fresh Meadows recently toured a “green” manufacturing company in his borough, and learned about the process of creating environmentally friendly products, and the means to build and distribute them. “Green” manufacturing could potentially aid the environment and spur industrial growth. </description>
