The transfer station is part of the city’s Solid Waste Management Plan and will be used for recycled materials. The goal of the plan is to decrease the amount of Sanitation trucks traveling through neighborhoods. State Senator Tom Duane who represents the area has said that Senate approval is not a certainty.
